Job Description

Overview:
Mead & Hunt is a Top 100 national engineering/architecture consulting firm with growing water/wastewater and renewable energy practices. As a result, we have a full-time position available for a project manager/engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
  • Performing and overseeing technical design tasks
  • Carrying out studies/evaluations, treatment process analyses; writing technical reports
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to project team and junior staff
  • Market and technology research to support client projects and business development efforts in the wastewater and renewable energy markets
  • Serving as the project manager for wastewater design and evaluation projects and feasibility studies
    • Managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
    • Ensuring quality control and quality assurance reviews
  • Supporting project development and proposals, including scope and price development, drafting technical proposals, coordinating proposal tasks, and providing or coordinating peer review
  • Managing client relationships; coordinating and leading client meetings and correspondence; coordinating with other internal client managers where applicable
  • Assisting in project on-site commissioning activities
  • Representing the company at industry events such as conferences or trade shows, when assigned
  • Travel will be required (10-20%)

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree (or higher) in civil, chemical, environmental or related engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least eight years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following:

  • Water/Wastewater and digester project design experience including:
    • Knowledge of wastewater treatment process design and technologies, including aerobic and anaerobic biological systems and biogas treatment and utilization
    • Developing plans and specifications
    • Technology selection
    • Aiding in construction and life cycle cost estimates
  • Successful project management experience (achieving targets for scope, schedule and budget)
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize while calmly working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability as a critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies
  • Experience with project management across project phases: conceptual/preliminary design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases. Experience with EPC or design-build project delivery is a plus.
  • Experience aiding in construction and life cycle cost estimates
  • Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to staff
  • Experience supporting project development, project feasibility evaluations, and proposal development
  • Client management experience
  • Experience coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary teams
