Job Description: Vice President of Sales – Battery Materials (Electrolyte)

Company Overview: Due a recent, successful raise, we are further developing novel electrolyte technology. Our cutting-edge technologies are designed to enhance battery performance, safety, and longevity, catering to a broad range of applications from electric vehicles to consumer electronics. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our commercial strategy for partnerships and JVs.

Position Summary: The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for our novel electrolytes product line. This role involves leading the sales team, managing key customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the battery materials industry, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, battery manufacturers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals and market share targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in across Cell Manufacturers and Electrification OEMs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including OEMs, battery manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our products and services.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and other relevant data to the executive team.
  • Work closely with the R&D and product development teams to align product offerings with market demands and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the battery materials or related industry.
  • Proven track record of success in sales management, business development, and achieving revenue targets.
  • Deep understanding of battery components and the broader energy storage market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
