South San Francisco, CA base pay range: $190,000-$250,000 Stafl Systems is dedicated to advancing all applications of lithium-ion battery technology to achieve a clean energy future. Our team has the proven engineering expertise to offer technical consulting, full-stack product development, in-house prototype fabrication, circuit board and battery pack manufacturing, and fleet management tools to solve the most complex challenges facing today’s cleantech industry.

We are seeking a highly motivated, and proven Vice President of Finance who is a proactive self-starter and excels in a dynamic startup environment. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting to the CEO and leveraging your expertise to drive and develop the financial operations of the company. Finally, you will bring a passion for innovative work methods, a focus on efficiency, and a demonstrated ability to mentor others.

Opportunity: (Position Summary)

This role ensures the financial well-being and expansion of Stafl Systems by fostering a culture of compliance and accountability for both the company’s financial health and the daily accounting activities of office operations. You will have ownership of developing the oversight strategy and risk management plan for the office. As part of the leadership team, you will be a trusted advisor on compliance matters for office representatives. Your responsibilities include interpreting data and creating strategic metrics to drive results and minimize risk. As a catalyst for change, you will spearhead transformation and growth, working with other leaders to promote financial office objectives. Leveraging industry best practices and external insights, you will inform your actions, assess risk, and anticipate needs to implement strategy.

Day In The Life

  • Develop and refine Stafl Systems’ key metrics and target operating model
  • Manage comprehensive long-range financial planning, FP&A processes, and capital strategy
  • Perform cost and margin analysis for various business activities
  • Lead the company through private financings, debt offerings and set a clear roadmap for IPO readiness in 3 to 5 years
  • Build a deep understanding of the broader strategic landscape of companies like Stafl Systems (vertical, industry, stage, and size)
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
  • Develop and lead enterprise change initiatives related to scaling business processes, improving financial and operating performance, and implementation of technology to modernize the organization
  • Deliver data-driven business insights to the executive leadership team that steer functional strategies and goals with a particular focus on objective performance measures
  • Manage external investor communications, including earnings announcements and investor presentations
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify financial opportunities and risks, providing actionable insights for business growth
  • Lead a successful team of Accountants

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience serving FP&A, Corporate Development, and Investor Relations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MBA preferred
  • Experience developing and leading enterprise change initiatives related to scaling business processes, improving financial and operating performance, and implementation of technology to modernize the organization
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis
  • NetSuite experience
