THE OPPORTUNITY

Industrial Sun seeks an exceptional candidate to join our team as Vice President of Engineering. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in solar site and transmission line design and working across different functions of a solar business. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a critical department for these large, high quality projects, all in the midst of a dynamic and constantly evolving market.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft a compelling and financeable plan for site design, equipment supply, and project construction of each of our project sites.
  • Support the siting and risk management of new solar sites across Texas.
  • Lead Federal, State, and Local permitting related to waters of the US, wetlands, drainage, and site modifications.
  • Lead the procurement of breakers, transformers, and other equipment as required.
  • Provide the organization projected pricing, timeline, and terms for procurement of panels, breakers, transformers, construction services, insurance, and other equipment as required.
  • Manage third party engineering, procurement, and permitting experts to perform required tasks on behalf of the organization.

Experience:

8+ years of demonstrable expertise and experience performing or managing the performance of:

  • Solar site layout and design
  • Transmission line design
  • Solar energy analysis
  • Solar MET campaigns
  • Solar ALTA Surveys
  • GIS / CAD

Solid familiarity with:

  • Solar equipment and EPC procurement
  • Wetlands and waters of the US permitting
  • Mineral pad design
  • Pipeline and electrical line crossing
  • Geotech studies
  • Hydrology studies

MBA, Masters, or other higher-level degree preferred
