The position can be based in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa or in the United States.

 

Job summary

Reporting to the President and CEO of Equans Services, the Vice President of Facility Management will have full responsibility for the profit center by ensuring that employees, customers and shareholders’ expectations are met.

This key leadership role will work in collaboration with functional support teams and business development to realize the full potential of this expansive market and our strong delivery capabilities.

He/She will also be a member of the Management Committee, and as such will have a key role to play in our collective success. He/she will be responsible for contributing to, implementing, and monitoring the execution of policies, particularly in the fields of Health and Safety, Cybersecurity and Ethics, all of which are key pillars of our corporate culture.

Finally, he/she will also be a key member of the Equans management community in North America, and his role will involve helping shape the business direction.

 

 

 

Description

 The Vice President of Facility Management:

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Protects our most valuable asset, our people.
  • Is responsible of the HS results of his teams.
  • Ensures that action plans are in place and effective and that teams have the necessary resources.
  • Ensures compliance with company rules by all employees under his/her supervision.

 

OPERATIONS

  • Leads a professional team that is dedicated to safety, quality and customer service. Drives a strong employee culture that is focused on continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates with support departments to ensure a seamless delivery of customer facing and back office services.
  • Ensures the application of and compliance with work methods, policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Is responsible for mobilizing new activities, offerings, and client sites within the framework of our business. In this capacity, he/she will manage all aspects of delivery including but not limited to recruitment and resourcing, inventory, supplier management, finance, health and safety, environment, contract management, quality, and customer relations.

 

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT

  • Establishes strategic plans in line with the values and needs of each customer, in collaboration with the business development teams.
  • Represents the company and maintains close links with customer executives and establishes business alignment with customers.
  • Ensures that contracts are renewed while protecting company and shareholder interests.
  • Understands customer goals, objectives, and challenges and proposes solutions to expand customer relationships and offerings.

 

 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (in collaboration with sales development)

  • Establishes strategic growth plans, and coordinates efforts in the execution and in collaboration with the business development teams.
  • Aligns solutions and organization to market opportunities in Canada and USA.
  • Supports account planning and opportunity reviews and establishes operational win strategies with his/her staff, which include but not limited to resource planning, subcontractor modelling, supplier selection and cost approval. Supports in formulating sales win strategies.
  • Develops relationships with senior customer decision-makers to align their needs with Equans capabilities and control outcomes.

 

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

  • He/She has full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for the business. This includes the annual budget process, forecasting, investments, and cash position.
  • Has to meet business plan and shareholders’ requirements.
  • Is responsible for monitoring cash management.
  • Is responsible for continuous performance improvement (purchasing, processes, resource optimization and efficiency, etc.).
  • Manages all risks whether they be financial, legal, operational or health, safety & environment. He/She ensures compliance with corporate and cyber-security policies, ethics, and all policies.

 

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

  • Sets strategic vision and foster a team culture which is customer centric.
  • Resource planning and adaption of organization based on market opportunity and needs.
  • Manages and supervises employees under his/her responsibility.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment of key positions.
  • Manages team performance and lead the annual objectives process.
  • Ensures good communication with his team and develop engagement.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures adequate development of all on-site personnel to prepare for succession.
  • Leads site union negotiations directly or through delegation, depending on maturity.
  • Ensures operations with the resource management teams in his department.

 

Requirements

  • Recognized leadership experience in a multisite, multicultural environment and some knowledge of facility management activities.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a large geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in profitably growing a business.
  • At least ten (10) years experience in a business profit center role.
  • Knowledge of facility management and capacity to understand technical situations (technical background preferred).
  • Proven capacity to develop the business with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop long-term relationships at a senior level. As such, he has a solid network or the ability to develop it rapidly.
  • Ability to engage teams over the long term.
  • Able to coordinate multiple key initiatives at the same time.
  • Financial skills and expertise in managing a Profit Center.
  • Ability to travel regularly in Canada and the United States, and occasionally in Europe.
  • Able to obtain security clearances associated with different levels of governments.
  • Must be fluent in English (oral & written).
  • Having Pharma experience is a strong asset
