Responsibilities

  • Pre-planning of the laying and burial operations with respect to necessary adjustments and setup for daily operations.
  • Reporting on operational performance to project management
  • Liaising with onboard project management to optimize cable installation performance.
  • Direct supervision of all variables related to laying and burial operations with the Vertical Injector spread, such as lay speed, water pressure/flow, route micro adjustments, winch and crane operations.
  • Focal point with onboard teams (survey, marine, lay team) to ensure optimal laying and burial performance.
  • Management of all on deck operations related to Installation equipment interface, including mobilization, storage, preparation, inspection, build up and break down.
  • Overall control of deck operations involving loading or unloading of product into laying and burial equipment via pull-through or transfer from chute/quadrant.
  • Critical input into safety culture onboard.
  • Critical input into operational planning such as any management of change requirements.
  • Supervision/training of subordinates to ensure knowledge/experience handover.
