Job Description

The UPS Business Segment Manager is responsible for managing the relationships and alignment between the company’s energy storage solutions with the needs, trends, and preferences of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The UPS Business Segment Manager possesses a deep understanding of the UPS market, the incumbent OEM providers and energy storage solutions available to effectively manage and grow ZincFive’s relationships and market share with those UPS OEM’s. The UPS Business Segment Manager leverages company resources and industry relationships in both business and account strategies to enable ZincFive to become the premier energy storage provider to the UPS business segment, particularly for data center applications. The UPS Business Segment Manager role may be worked remotely or from our headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports to the Senior VP Sales & Marketing.

UPS Business Segment Manager Job Duties:

  • Augment the sales and marketing organization to strategically position ZincFive for success at UPS OEM customers
  • Lead and manage all contract negotiations with UPS OEM customers
  • Work seamlessly with the ZincFive sales and marketing organization to coordinate and compliment efforts of the team
  • Assume project management responsibilities for all ZincFive focused projects at UPS OEM’s including product and UPS platform qualification, sales and marketing rollouts and geographic expansion programs.
  • Develop and execute winning customer strategies that significantly grow ZincFive’s revenue
  • Leverage and improve ZincFive’s executive relationships at UPS OEM’s
  • Enhance the presence of the ZincFive Product Management organization to insure product roadmap alignment with UPS OEM’s
  • Support ZincFive data center UPS solutions at trade shows, conferences, and customer events
  • Travel on a global basis to support UPS OEM customers as needed

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Sales, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing in the UPS industry.
  • Must have established executive relationships with UPS OEM’s
  • Must have business strategy and account management skills
  • Ability to present ZincFive solutions to executive and technical audiences
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (sales, service, marketing and product management)

Key Competencies:

  • Must have excellent sales, relationship building, and communications skills
  • Ability to understand technical products and clearly articulate product functionality, features and benefits, (i.e. basic electrical, battery, UPS, and data center application knowledge)
  • Experience with CRMs and proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Must have strong work ethic to be successful and perform with limited supervision
  • Adaptability to a small and growing company environment

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Work involves extended periods of sitting, standing, some repetitive motion, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Requires the ability to conduct business over the phone for extended periods of time
  • Up to 50% travel may be required
  • The ability to travel via air, car, bus, and train for extended periods of time
  • Normal office or home office environment

Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
