Job Description


Overview This position will contribute to knowledge hubs within the Portal and Repository for Information on Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMRE). PRIMRE is a network of databases that collect data and information on marine energy (e.g., wave energy, tidal energy, ocean thermal energy conversion [OTEC]) development in the United States and around the world. This internship will support the curation of content on knowledge hubs including, Tethys, which hosts documents and resources on the environmental effects on marine energy and offshore wind energy, Tethys Engineering, which hosts technical and engineering documents, and the, Projects Database, which tracks marine energy deployments and device technologies developed around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Work a flexible schedule of /10 hours/week during the academic year
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
  • Efficient at completing tasks

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma /GED or higher
  • Candidates must be degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in environmental science, oceanography, engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with marine energy, offshore wind energy, or ocean sciences.

To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.

Starting pay is calculated from the minimum of the pay range and actual placement in the range is determined based on an individual’s relevant job-related skills, qualifications, and experience. Instead, our compensation offers are determined by the specific requirements of the position, prevailing market trends, applicable collective bargaining agreements, pay equity for the position type, and individual qualifications and skills relevant to the performance of the position.
