Job Description

The Technical Writer will be a member of the corporate marketing department reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications. The selected candidate will create clear and concise marketing content, as well as in-depth technical documentation, translating complex technical information into easily understandable content for end-users and stakeholders across multiple content formats and channels. This position may work remotely from home or onsite at our headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Technical Writer Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop operation manuals, installation instructions, data sheets, and other technical product documentation
  • Create marketing collateral to support major marketing campaigns and product launches
  • Support the Digital Marketing and Customer Engagement Manager in creating content for the companys website, marketing collateral for events, monthly newsletters, and more
  • Write blog posts
  • Ghostwrite thought-leadership bylines
  • Create white papers
  • Write and edit technical/reference manuals
  • Write video scripts
  • Proofread and edit technical and marketing documents

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or equivalent years of experience
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience writing marketing and technical content
  • Ability to craft compelling marketing copy, messaging, and content
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable content
  • Ability to do research and incorporate critical thinking into writing

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Familiarity with SEO and keyword research best practices
  • Prior knowledge of energy storage, power systems and batteries
  • Journalistic background

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Home or office environment
  • Ability to travel by car, air, bus, and train
  • Work requires close visual acuity
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds

Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
