Research Data Specialist II Sustainability Research Specialist

California is reducing its environmental footprint through sustainable state government operations and practices including, renewable energy generation at state facilities, sustainable state-owned vehicles, Microgrids, and energy efficient state building design and construction. If this clean energy movement excites you, Department of General Services (DGS) is looking for a Sustainability Research Specialist to join the Office of Sustainability to work on many exciting projects.

As our Sustainability Research Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

Apply complex research methods to perform research supporting a range of energy programs and policies

Implement DGS green policies, practices, and procedures

Monitor the impact of legislation and market changes related to funding programs

Evaluate, influence, and develop sustainability policies that support the advancement and use of clean technology

Deliver improved data collection, analysis, and presentation

Track data for the statewide electric vehicle program

Administer the Energy Efficient State Property Revolving Fund

Desired Skills and Experience

Building/facility energy storage and Microgrid research background

Ability to analyze complex sustainability issues and present information clearly

Ability to develop creative approaches and solutions to sustainability challenges

Sustainability policy research experience

The ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Pay: $7,201.00 – $9,013.00 per month
