Job Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible in helping the company accomplish the achievement of the company’s long-term goals: zero environmental impact and zero traffic fatalities by 2050. As the Sustainability Accounting Analytics and Visualization Team Lead you will drive the delivery of robust reporting capabilities, striking visualizations, and insightful analytics. Your pivotal role will involve identifying areas for operational efficiencies and ensuring the successful delivery of results that enhance reporting systems for accounting solutions, social, environmental, and governance indicators.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement and lead a cross-functional effort to continue the execution of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud – a new sustainability accounting system that focuses on third party collection software program.
  • Leverage technical expertise to collaborate with departments such at IT, legal, and accounting to ensure data quality controls are in place and systems are functional.
  • Identify, create, and manage reporting and analytical tools that capture and display social and environmental data for trend analysis to be completed
  • Performing a cross functional role in the business, act as the SME for ensuring greenhouse gas emission data are collected using internationally accepted methods, means, calculations. This includes guidelines and standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, the Global Reporting Initiative and developing state and federal regulations.
  • Establish Regional Planning as a center of excellence for data analysis, statistics, reporting, and data visualization—using traditional methods and artificial intelligence—for social and environmental data. Use software programs such as Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, Tableau, and/or Microsoft Power BI to analyze data such as real-world traffic fatalities, crash safety technology effectiveness, third party safety ratings, greenhouse gas emissions, waste diversion, or energy efficiency.
  • Lead and own detailed analysis for Regional Planning to assess data quality and meaning, elevate business processes and improve on/create new reporting insights/features including the use artificial intelligence to analyze, interpret, and present data.
  • Envision a regular internal reporting process and implement that process, leading a group of internal stakeholders. The scope of the process includes accounting methods, measures, and controls to ensure data quality, accuracy, and thoroughness. This includes participating in any assurance-related activities.
  • Assist and occasionally lead Regional Planning team members in the execution of important departmental initiatives such as events, ad hoc projects, and process. Lead cross-functional teams including with other business units such as accounting and finance, manufacturing, and business development.
  • Guide and advise the Regional Planning team in its efforts to increase its skillset using artificial intelligence.

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, or Finance
  • 5 years minimum experience in Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, or Finance
  • Certification in and/or deep working knowledge on one or more of the following subjects:
  • Internal controls and accounting methodologies, in sustainability or traditional financial accounting or both
  • The World Resources Institute’s Greenhouse Gas Protocol
  • Internationally accepted sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Event planning & project management
