Job Summary:

Our Wisconsin School of Business Student Services and Technology Specialist will be focused on providing student services and associated technical support to incoming and continuing Executive MBA (EMBA) and Professional MBA (PMBA) students, as well as to program faculty and staff. The person in this role will be part of the MBA & Master’s Program Office and will collaborate with team members to support the EMBA & PMBA programs as well as provide student assistance to other MBA & Master’s programs. The successful candidate will be relationship oriented, demonstrating a desire to work in a team environment, and will possess a cultural competency in working effectively with a diverse group of students and staff.

Additional responsibilities that are also part of this role include:

  • Help students and instructors in the EMBA and PMBA programs navigate the audio/visual and conferencing technology that is built into the hybrid-flexible classrooms.
  • Manage non-credit students in the programs. This will include tracking badge course availability, following up with non-credit students on the waitlist, tracking badge completion progress, issuing badges on the Badgr Platform, and working to aid in the retention of non-credit students.
  • Manage student access to software tools, such as AWS, @Risk, Snowflake, and others which they will use in their program courses.
  • Support students with learning platforms and collaboration tools used throughout their programs.
  • Provide curricular and budget support, including purchasing student and course materials.
  • Assist in planning orientation, residencies, and applied learning programs.
  • Assist in onboarding of faculty members to instructional technology used while teaching in the programs.
  • Support the measurement of programs learning goals that align with the AACSB standards
  • Communicate with students via the Program Office inbox and follow up with individuals on inquiries.

Initially as the person in this role begins to train and understand the role, the job will be 80% on-site. After the role is more fully understood, the position may be increasingly remote, if preferred, up to a maximum of 40% remote.

A typical work schedule for this position includes working in-person one evening each week as well as one Saturday and Sunday each month.

Responsibilities:

Provides subject matter expertise in the development and execution of programs within the scope of student learning and development. Organizes the facilitation and development of curriculum design for on-going and new educational initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

  • 30% Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
  • 20% Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • 10% Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
  • 10% Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
  • 10% Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
  • 5% Provides other support duties as assigned in the academic & student affairs programs including but not limited to collecting, organizing, interpreting, & disseminating data to identify program needs, improve effectiveness & enhance student experience
  • 5% Assist students and instructors by providing basic training and technical support in settings such as classrooms, student collaboration rooms, and distance learning platforms.
  • 5% Analyze, test, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and provide feedback regarding learning technologies in support of students and instructors.
  • 5% Provides consultation, training, and/or support to students, instructors, and staff for learning technology tools and platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, Teams, and lightboards.

Education:

Required
Bachelor’s Degree
in business or technology preferred.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum one year of professional experience in education or business
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting technology in a customer-facing role
  • Strong attention to details and prioritization
  • Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to assess, analyze operational & functional needs, and propose technical solutions
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data, statistics, and trends

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
