Strategic Communications Deputy Project Manager

We are hiring a Strategic Communications Deputy Project Manager to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). EERE is working to build a clean energy economy that will enhance economic growth, support Americas energy independence and improve the health and well-being of the American people. The Strategic Communications Deputy Project Manager supporting Department of Energy will be responsible for the following:

  • Support the Contract Manager and client leads with contract management actions.
  • Manage internal teams, including providing feedback and coaching to team members to improve their performance and client service.
  • Project-manage a variety of initiatives, including high-profile reports with numerous stakeholders involved in production (government and contractors), photo shoots at locations around the country, quick-turn leadership presentations, and other contract deliverables.
  • Coordinate across contract teams to obtain answers and complete tasks for client and Akoya leaders.
  • Produce contract deliverables and communications materials.
  • Lead development of SOPs, processes, and workflows to ensure efficient production and the highest quality control.
  • Complete contract-related administrative tasks.
  • Serve as the lead on addressing client systems and process requests.
  • Support event management, including research, space planning, logistics, booth setup and teardown, booth management during event hours, staff management at events, material production and distribution, and coordination of client support.
  • At events, provide comprehensive information about client priorities to visitors; collect stakeholder information; and host engagements at the event display, including office hours and meet-ups.
  • Coordinate production of event presentations with speakers and produce master presentation decks and materials.
  • Write reports with data points about event successes and stakeholder engagements.
  • Work side-by-side with staff to support the development of a wide variety of interesting, public-facing written products, including press releases, speeches, web articles, media pitches, and social media content.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience and a Bachelors degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required with verbal and written fluency in English
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust level)
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Must be a self-starter who can be assigned an initiative and complete it with minimal oversight.
  • Must be able to travel to EERE locations and event locations to any U.S. state, and possibly to international locations.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and a passion for exceptional client service.
  • Experience supervising & supporting a team
  • Possess excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Base Compensation

  • Base compensation: $100,00 to $120,000. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as location, education, years of experience, and candidate skillset.
