What You Will Do:
The Energy & Environment group within Guidehouses Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure (ES&I) practice, provides clean energy stakeholder engagement support, technical and market analysis, research, and strategic planning and analysis support related to emerging clean energy technologies for the public sector. The Energy & Environment group the Department of Energy in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, community benefits plans, community engagement, technology deployment and scaling programs, and other analysis, data collection/modeling, and research projects related to clean energy demonstration programs/projects.
As a Consultant on our team you will support broad engagement with stakeholders including government agencies, tribal organizations, industry representatives, manufacturers, non-profit organizations, and advocacy groups. Other responsibilities may include grant program management, market and technology assessments, strategy and plan formulation, and coordination of disparate workstreams.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting federal energy clients with stakeholder engagement strategic plans for clean energy demonstration programs
Stakeholder engagement including support for developing engagement content, supporting stakeholder workshops and other events, supporting outreach efforts, and tracking engagement
Providing detailed research and analysis on clean energy-related activities including conducting market research and analyzing market trends
Performing analyses and model development; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management
Preparing reports and other deliverables for clients

What You Will Need:
Bachelors degree in relevant field AND one to ten (1-10) years of directly related working experience including internships, co-ops, and fellowships; Or Master’s degree in relevant field AND one to ten (1-10) years of directly related working experience including internships, co-ops, and fellowships
Stakeholder engagement experience with clean energy technologies
Experience building and/or executing stakeholder engagement plans
Experience related to Advanced Reactor Demo Projects
Knowledge of U.S. Department of Energy programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel 25%
Must currently reside in the USA
Due to nature of client engagement, must either be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described
This role is a Hybrid role which will require you to go into the Arlington, VA, Guidehouse Office (or Client office in DC) up to three (3) days a week or on occasion.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
Master’s degreein Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
in addition, experience related to any of the following clean energy technologies: hydrogen; advanced nuclear, carbon capture and storage; direct air capture; industrial decarbonization; long duration energy storage; and, other clean energy technologies deployed in rural or remote areas or on current and former mine land
Ability to quickly research and learn about new technologies and topics
Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable number of miles of the Arlington, VA, GuidehouseOffice
