Location: Washington DC Metro, Jacksonville, FL OR Remote candidates willing to travel up to 50%

Full Time, Direct Hire Position Salary, Exempted A leading company in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee and optimize metal fabrication processes across multiple locations. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about process standardization and continuous improvement in CNC programming, metal fabrication, and product development.

About the Role: As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers and CNC programmers to ensure fabrication tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design, production, and quality departments, to standardize processes and enhance the efficiency of metal fabrication operations. This role is crucial for overseeing new product development (NPD) initiatives and integrating them into production seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the metal fabrication engineering team across multiple locations.
  • Standardize and optimize processes involving CNC lasers, punches, press brakes, and bus bar fabrication.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
  • Oversee CNC programming to ensure program quality and consistency.
  • Support new product development and manage capital investments related to production.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and mentor team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in metal fabrication processes such as CNC lasers, punches, and bus bar fabrication.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Certifications in PMP, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma are preferred.
