Overview

A Site Surveyor takes measurements of the property, including the amount of sunlight it receives, the size of the roof or other available space, and any potential obstructions to solar panel installation.

Essential Functions

• Inspect the condition of the roof.
• Inspect the main service panel.
• Document shading and other roof obstructions.
• Consider the roof dimensions, pitch, and rafter spacing.
• Get roof measurements, and accurately draw out solar panel layout.
• Take clear photos of all site conditions.
• Choose the placement of the inverter and conduit run.
• Collaborate with engineering/construction teams to ensure accurate project specifications.
• Drop off plans at job sites.
• Adhere to safety protocols during fieldwork
• Install labels.
• Install breaker and other small jobs in order to complete jobs.

Competencies

• Drive a company vehicle from the office to various job sites.
• Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills with the office and customers in order to provide accurate ETAs.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, maps.
• Be responsible and on time.
• Have a good working phone.
• Comfortable with face-to-face interactions
• Ability to adapt and respond positively to a variety of homeowner reactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
• At least 2 years experience.
• Have a basic understanding of electrical.
• Bilingual is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb a ladder onto a 2nd story, multi story, etc. buildings.
• Lift and carry large ladders and also ability to safely secure ladders to the vehicle.
