POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss’ Solar Project Accountant works collaboratively with the Project Manager and project team to ensure that all project-related accounting is compliant and accurate. You will be managing comprehensive accounting functions for the project job site and other essential tasks. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and professional ethics to support our Core Values.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Set up vendors for invoices
  • Process credit applications requests
  • Provide oversight for Assistant Project Accountant workload and quality of work; Time sheets/Payroll, Company credit card, Employee reimbursement, Miscellaneous Invoices
  • Manage subcontractor pay applications, review, and post change orders, and communicate changes to the project team
  • Process and manage owner billings
  • Collect Lien waivers and ensure compliance and validity
  • Collect and review insurance certificates for accuracy (Ebix Database)
  • Maintain and manage COI compliance
  • Assist in the review of owner contract, addendums, exhibits, and financial risk compliance
  • Work closely and support Project Administrators as needed
  • Conduct project site visits to build relationships with team
  • Understands and adheres to company deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Work Experience

  • Associates &/or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field from an accredited college or university with over 2 years of experience relevant to the role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Construction verbiage
  • Construction project management software familiarity such as CMIC is helpful
  • Notary (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of self-perform construction accounting, project and cost control
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Project Manager, subcontractors and vendors
  • Exercises sound and accurate judgment by including the appropriate people in the decision-making process and displaying a willingness to make decisions
  • Demonstrates professionalism by tactfully approaching others, reacting well under pressure, accepting responsibility for one’s actions, following through on commitments, and treating others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position
