Role Overview

As an MPU Technician at Our World Energy, youll play a vital role in powering homes and businesses with clean, renewable energy. Your expertise will ensure that solar systems are installed safely and efficiently, directly contributing to our mission of a sustainable future. Were seeking a leader with a strong electrical background who can oversee and execute Main Panel Upgrades (MPU), troubleshoot system components, and ensure compliance with national and local codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Main Panel Upgrades: Safely complete MPU projects, ensuring all work is up to code and meets professional standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to execute residential solar installations seamlessly.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, providing essential support to installation teams and homeowners.
  • Leadership in Installation: Lead the installation of electrical systems, connecting solar arrays to the grid and ensuring all work is compliant with NEC and local codes.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electricians perform work of the highest quality, adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Branch & Homeowner Interface: Collaborate with branch leadership and homeowners to address system repairs and maintain high customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electrical installation and repair, with a strong understanding of NEC, local building codes, and green book regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels, and a solid grasp of required hand and power tools.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage work timelines effectively and lead teams with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-Oriented: Capable of reading and interpreting single-line drawings and ensuring work is completed as scheduled.
  • Safety-First: Comfortable working at heights, from ladders, and in various environments, including branches, warehouses, and rooftops.
  • Valid Drivers License: Must maintain a clean and valid driver’s license for travel between job sites.

Additional Candidate Requirements:

– Blueprint reading skills
– Electrical experience in high voltage environments
– Knowledge of NEC regulations
– Proficiency in using power tools for construction tasks
– Leadership skills for supervising team members
– Familiarity with commercial electrical systems
– Experience in fixture installation and plumbing tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Telsa: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Electrical installation: 3 years (Preferred)
  • MPU: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Solar energy: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Preferred)
  • Electrical License (Preferred)
