Job Summary:

Aztec Solar is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Solar Installers to join our growing team. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You will play a key role in helping our customers achieve energy independence while supporting our mission to make renewable energy accessible to all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install Solar PV Systems: Assemble, install, and configure solar modules, mounting hardware, and other electrical components on rooftops or ground-mounted systems.
  • Electrical Work: Work with electrical wiring, conduit installation, and interconnection of solar PV systems to inverters and grid connections, adhering to safety protocols and codes.
  • System Maintenance & Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar systems as needed, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA regulations and company safety protocols, including the use of proper PPE and equipment handling.
  • Site Assessment: Conduct pre-installation site visits to assess roof conditions, structural integrity, and shading to ensure system feasibility.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record installation details, complete job logs, and report to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including project managers, electricians, and apprentices, to ensure installations are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with customers, providing basic system education and addressing any questions or concerns they may have during the installation process.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of solar installation experience preferred but not required. Candidates with construction, roofing, or electrical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in solar or electrical systems are a plus.
  • Licensing: NABCEP certification or willingness to obtain it is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work at heights, and proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Drivers License: Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
