Position Specific Description

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy’s non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity.

This position is based out of Genesis Solar, located in Blythe, California. The Position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the assigned Solar Field, Solar Collection Assemblies at the Genesis Solar power plants to achieve a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound solar fields for the plant operations. Provides inspection of watch, electrical, mechanical, and electronic trouble shooting within the solar collection assemblies LOC Boxes utilizing a PCE/Lap Top Computer. Solar Field Inspections are performed daily for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage and/or Reflective Pannel Breakage and/or Misalignments as well as electrical component failures preventing the production of power to the grid. Maintains all hand and power tools, assigned fleet vehicles, in a clean safe and efficient condition. The position will also include other misc. duties that are aligned and assigned by the Team Leader.

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar collection assemblies on multiple solar power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, and amp clamps.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Provides inspection of watch, electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting for a solar field and pipeline
  • Performs daily inspection for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures preventing a collector or groups of collectors from tracking
  • Travel to other sites will be required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 1+ years
  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree

The base pay for this position is $61,600.00 to $92,400.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
