Solar Lead Estimator – Mechanical and Electrical

Overview: Seeking a Lead Solar Estimator experienced in EPC Solar with expertise in Mechanical and Electrical Procurement and Installation. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and expertise in estimating solar projects within these contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Project Assessment: Review project specs and drawings to grasp solar installation requirements.
  • Cost Estimation: Use advanced estimating techniques to accurately assess project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Bid Preparation: Create comprehensive bid proposals aligning with client needs and company objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to optimize project outcomes.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Value Engineering: Explore cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records in accordance with company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new knowledge into job performance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in estimating turnkey solar projects with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical scopes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software, advanced Excel, and CAD software.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPE or PMP are a plus.
