Solar Development Engineer

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in C&I or Community solar project development.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing solar PV projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of solar energy technologies, electrical systems, and interconnection requirements.
• Experience with solar energy modeling software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
• Must have experience designing projects from a civil and/or electrical perspective.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with project management software or similar systems.
• Experience with permitting and interconnection processes for C&I or Community solar projects.
• Knowledge of local and national renewable energy policies and incentives.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders, including landowners, developers, utilities, and government agencies.
• Valid driver’s license.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential C&I or Community solar project sites.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and develop project proposals.
• Design and engineer solar PV systems, including single-line and 3-line electrical diagrams.
• Perform energy modeling and financial analysis for project viability.
• Manage project budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external partners (utilities, contractors).
• Prepare and submit permitting applications for C&I or Community solar projects.
• Support project construction and commissioning activities.
• Ensure project documentation is accurate and complete.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the solar industry.
