SOLAR DC INSTALLER (I, II, III)

QCELLS Enable is the EPC branch of Qcells for the Commercial, Industrial, Distributed Generation, and Small Utility Scale solar markets. Our mission is to provide world class design and installation of large-scale PV and ESS systems throughout the US. Our position as a leading module manufacturer means we can offer end-to-end solutions for project developers and asset managers. We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our Teaneck, New Jersey headquarters.

Summary

The Solar DC Installer (Commercial Installations) will provide support to the Field Supervisor or Team Lead of the installation team and ensure the completion of installation of all solar arrays and solar systems for Commercial Properties. It is the responsibility of each Installer to ensure safe work practices for the installation team.

This position reports to the Site (Solar) Superintendent, or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Field Supervisor or Team Lead for the DC side of solar installations
  • Pre-assemble job components
  • Layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware
  • Measure and install solar roof arrays
  • Installation of Solar Panels
  • Installation of Solar Racking
  • Mechanical and structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment
  • Basic electrical wiring of solar array/system (DC to AC)
  • Ensure proper clean-up of job site
  • Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
  • Responsible for ensuring the safe work practices for the installation team
  • Work with team to clean-up job-site, and prevent leaving any trash or tools behind
  • All other assignments and special projects, as requested by Management
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company’s attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 – 8 years of experience in Commercial Solar Installation, required
  • A valid driver’s license, required
  • Experience with the safe-use of hand-held power tools
  • Previous experience in PV installations, roof work, general construction, or carpentry, preferred
  • Understanding and experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems, strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, such as the hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops, and be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, required
  • OSHA 30 Certificate and SST Certificate, required
  • Forklift experience & license, preferred
  • Ability to travel, at least 50% of the time
  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player
  • Excellent ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic, environment.

SALARY RANGE FOR POSITION

The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located traveling to different job sites, but with frequent visits to Teaneck, NJ is $ ___,___ – $___,___ base salary per year.

The above-listed salary range is required by the New York Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Teaneck, NJ. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to walk or move continuosuly while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires repetitive movement.

  • Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
  • Potential exposure to chemical substances
  • Work performed around hazardous equipment.
