We are two business partners with strong financial backgrounds seeking a highly motivated Solar Energy Operations Manager to oversee the operational aspects of our solar energy business, with a focus on cannabis cultivation facilities. This role involves managing the installation and maintenance of solar equipment through contracted solar companies, handling power purchase agreements, applying for government grants and subsidies, and ensuring timely billing and payment from clients. The candidate will begin with US facilities and subsequently branch internationally, initially to southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
– Operations Management: Oversee the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems through third-party contractors, ensuring high-quality and timely service.
– Client Relations: Manage power purchase agreements with clients, providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships.
– Financial Management: Apply for government grants, subsidies, and tax credits. Utilize these awards as collateral for securing loans to fund operations.
– Billing and Collections: Ensure accurate monthly billing to clients and manage collections to maintain positive cash flow.
– Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance in all operations.
– Performance Monitoring: Track the performance of solar installations and coordinate maintenance as required to ensure optimal efficiency and output.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, or a related field.
– Experience and/or deep interest in operations management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
– Strong understanding of financial management, including grants, subsidies, and tax credits.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
