Senior Structural Engineer

Taylor Hopkinson is currently in active pursuit of a Senior Renewable Structural Engineer to join a one of the world’s longest-standing full-service architect-engineering firms is a global leader in power, energy, and decarbonization. The firm has expertise in grid modernization, renewable energy, energy storage, nuclear power, fossil power, carbon capture, and hydrogen to support utility scale projects.

This position involves performing structural engineering reviews and analyses to understand power projects and distill technical expertise into actionable information for project stakeholders. These insights will help stakeholders prudently develop, design, construct, operate, and finance renewable energy projects in the United States and overseas. You will collaborate with multi-discipline project teams to provide a variety of services, including:

• Performing structural engineering reviews
• Preparing structural engineering specifications
• Advising power project developers to support new utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal, and other projects
• Independently evaluating new power and infrastructure projects to support financing
• Developing planning studies and business cases for utilities, power producers, and government agencies

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required.
• Must have experience in advising renewable utility scale projects
• Structural engineering analyses
• Specification preparation
• Finite element modeling capabilities
• Technical evaluation report writing
• Multi-discipline teamwork (e.g., design projects, co-ops)
• Data analysis and visualization
• Project finance or business acumen
• Conceptual project design
• Construction project management and/or scheduling software knowledge
