Job Purpose

The Senior Specialist, Project Management, MA AMI Customer, Community, and Regulatory Engagement (MA CCRE) is a key member of the MA Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program team that manages our customer, community, and regulatory engagements in support of a smarter, stronger, cleaner energy future for our customers in Massachusetts through the deployment of smart meters. We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist to lead and represent all project management functions for the MA CCRE team.

The Senior Specialist, Project Management will serve as the MA CCRE teams point of contact for internal departments and stakeholders, and will maintain coordination within the MA CCRE team to ensure successful delivery of objectives and cross-team collaboration spanning the entire AMI Program. The Senior Specialist will also support and represent National Grid in Massachusetts regulatory settings as required. Additionally, the Senior Specialist will act as the primary representative for the team in all AMI program-wide implementation activities structured within a hybrid Waterfall-Agile delivery methodology.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape the energy transition by engaging with our customers, meeting and educating internal and external stakeholders, and work to promote advancing technology in our region while further developing expertise, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

This position will be located in Massachusetts (Waltham, Northboro, or Boston).


Key Accountabilities

Identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and managing program implementation to advance adoption of the MA AMI program and our net zero ambition, including:

  • Strategic collaboration with other teams across National Grid in various areas; MA CCRE project management representative and liaison to other departments charged with the innovation of our energy grid and providing education and awareness to our customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Working to deliver and support enhanced customer and community engagement efforts enabled by the deployment of smart meter across Massachusetts.
  • Updating key stakeholders of the AMI program on current and future (roadmap) activities and engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinating the development and delivery of key program milestones e.g., educational content and awareness to customers and internal/external stakeholders of National Grid across Massachusetts; marketing plans, content maintenance.
  • Maintaining and encouraging focus on program agility throughout smart meter deployment, reflecting the AMI Programs hybrid Waterfall-Agile delivery methodology.
  • Serving as primary point for the MA CCREs team responsibility in leveraging Agile ways of working (e.g., JiraAlign tooling) to deliver on program objectives.
  • Supporting all regulatory compliance efforts as the lead coordinator for all MA CCRE activities.
  • Providing project support and development, including analysis, drafting/writing, presentation, and editing responsibilities.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or similar is required, such as in Engineering, Communications, Environmental Science, Business, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills are required.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies is preferred.
  • Success working independently, proactively, handling multiple tasks, and determining priorities in a team environment balanced by an ability to collaborate effectively and translate smoothly across multiple disciplines or functional groups.

Salary

$103,000 – $121,000 a year

Salary commensurate with experience

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
