Job Description

SENIOR SCHEDULE ENGINEER required by our Client, a Renewable and Energy Operator, to be assigned on a contract to permanent basis. The position is based in the USA, Boston Massachusetts.

The Senior Schedule Engineer is a critical role within the Offshore Business focusing on the

delivery of substantial program controls within the offshore project. The assignment is for New

England Wind 1 & 2 projects, where the candidate will be responsible for development and

analysis of the Project overall planning during its estimated 5 years or until operational hand over.

The position may require occasionally travelling to various locations in the US and overseas and

during development, contracting and delivery of key project controls the individual should be

prepared to collaborate with teams working at different project locations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assistance in the delivery of complex multi-million-dollar, multi-disciplinary, multi-contract
  • project planning with a substantial number of interfaces and coordination to manage.
  • Providing key and strategic delivery advice, in relation to substantial project planning
  • matters throughout the whole life cycle (development to commissioning) to support the
  • business plan delivery.
  • Preparing project plans and monthly progress updates utilizing Primavera Project Planner
  • (P6).
  • Working closely with Package Managers, enter and validate progress per package into
  • P6.
  • Interacting with Package Managers to discuss schedule issues and reforecast and
  • produce Monthly Package updates.
  • Identifying schedule delays and support management in resolution and decision making.
  • Identifying and assess impacts of program risk.
  • Developing Level 3 Project Master Program (PMP) working with project teams and
  • external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating interfaces between external contractors and suppliers.
  • Analyzing schedule impacts and discuss schedule delays, potential recovery plans with
  • Package Managers and make recommendations to the Lead Planner.
  • Assisting Installation and Commissioning Planner as required in development and
  • reporting of the Level 4 Installation and Commissioning programs (from units to detailed
  • activities).
  • Ensuring all lessons learned regarding Project Planning are captured and shared across
  • the different offshore key project work package owners.
  • Analyzing program schedules/delays, develop and propose recovery plans,
  • Managing significant number of interfaces to ensure timely project delivery while
  • minimizing costs, delays, and risks.
  • Preparing project documentation to support Lead Planner.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION

  • Degree qualified or equivalent qualifications and experience. Master’s degree in
  • engineering / Business Management.
  • Proven experience in Offshore Wind/Renewable/Energy/Infrastructure Projects.
  • 5 years’ experience in Scheduling & Planning large complex programs valued over $500M
  • Advanced experience with Primavera Project Planner (P6), Microsoft Office suites and
  • Document Management Systems
  • Good knowledge of offshore projects (desirable)
  • Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and see / anticipate
  • problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
  • Ability to manage key project plans and contractor’s programs which require interface and
  • precise coordination with multiple disciplines (structures, turbines, electrical cables,
  • offshore substations, ports, and vessels).
