What you will enjoy doing* (DUTIES)
- Develop new applications for industrial gases in support of Linde’s energy businesses. Replicate existing applications in new markets of interest to Linde’s regional businesses. Interface directly with energy customers.
- Contribute to all phases of technology development from the generation of new ideas to the implementation of new technologies of commercial value to Linde. Develop new applications that drive the sale of gas or have a strong service component.
- Lead research and development projects through the stage-gate process towards commercialization.
- Interact with customers to identify new needs, validate solutions, and ensure alignment throughout the development process. Screen ideas and technologies for development potential. Work with Research and Development and global business units to conceive technology solutions.
- Develop commercial value propositions from the customer and Linde perspectives, including business cases, cost-benefit analysis, project financial analyses, and market studies.
- Conduct process development, including Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams utilizing software including UNISIM and Microsoft Visio. Apply engineering principles, rules, and standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API) or American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and internal Linde industrial gas related standards.
What Makes You Great (REQTS)
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience within the energy market in the job offered or in a related position.
- Must have five (5) years of experience with: Developing new products that address customers needs by applying science and engineering disciplines in the development cycle and user requirements to deliver functional, usable, and robust product; Performing process simulations, drawing, and reading process and instrumentation diagrams, developing heat and mass balance, and conducting safety reviews such as process hazards analysis; Handling and applying industrial gases to perform duties including the use of valves, regulators, flow/pressure/temperature measurement equipment, and safety devices such as relief valves and burst discs; Specifying gas processing equipment such as compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and reactors as part of specifying and procuring equipment to conduct experimental programs and build new products; Running laboratory experiments, testing prototype and first-of-a-kind commercial equipment as part of the product development cycle, and using control and instrumentation systems, data acquisition systems, and gas analyzers; Interacting with company business units to ensure that products developed have an attractive commercial value proposition and meet commercial targets, developing business cases, cost-benefit analysis, and technoeconomic analysis, developing financial models, and presenting technical solutions in a commercial context; and Interacting with customers to convey value propositions in authentic manner, convey advantages over competitive offerings, and facilitate sale of a product in conjunction with sales force when necessary.
- 20% travel domestically and internationally to Linde offices.

The weekly working hours are Mo – Fr (40 hours per week). It is a full time role. This position offers a salary range of $114,114.48 – $130,350/year.
