Summary Of Responsibilities

Leads and manages complex and new capital Plant projects associated with high visibility and URENCO global initiatives. Plans, executes, controls, and facilitates the turnover of projects to Operations consisting of design,- procurement, and installation in support of continued facility operation. Project activities range in total value from several tens of thousands up to several million dollars. Implements assigned projects through a matrix reporting relationship with affected organizations to include, but not limited to Operations, Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Operations Support, and Procurement.

This position will interface with European organizations such as Enrichment Technology Corporation, Central Technology Group and other URENCO organizations, URENCO USA Organizations and key stakeholders to effectively implement the schedule for assigned projects.

Education And Experience

Minimum

  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited four year college or university.
  • PMP Certification Required
  • Experience 8 years of related work experience in Project Management, Construction and/or a site modifications group at a nuclear power, fuel cycle, or chemical processing facility; of which at least 5 years are in a project management role.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Engineering, physics, chemistry, construction management, or other related technical field.
  • Experience – 10 years of related work experience in Project Management, Construction and/or a site modifications group at a nuclear power, fuel cycle, or chemical processing facility; of which at least 7 years are in a project management role.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and permitting requirements such as NQA-1, State of New Mexico Construction Industries Division, and NRC licensing requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of basic engineering, industrial safety and construction principles.

Essential Skills

  • Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to present project status and performance.
  • Ability to direct and establish working conditions suitable to meeting critical deadlines, yet remain flexible in responding to changing requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in the generation and application of project management principles, concepts and techniques including managing multiple critical path schedules, Cost Performance Index and Schedule Performance Index.
  • Knowledgeable of vendor contract requirements and capable of confirming contract performance.
  • Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate established priorities across multiple groups.
  • Ability to provide prioritization, direction, and support to solve a variety of problems.
  • Capable of complying with procedural requirements with high standards and quality work.
  • Ability to determine, communicate and obtain assistance for challenges to completing assigned activities per the schedule.
  • Self-starter, consistent, milestone and goal-driven based on established priorities.
  • Ability to understand and interpret project schedules, cost and budget data, engineering and construction drawings.
  • Knowledgeable of scheduling systems and or tools such as Primavera and MS Projects applications
  • Knowledgeable of the corrective action program requirements.

Job Details

  • Work Location: Eunice, NM
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 15% of the time or less as required
  • Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.

  • Primary Functions

    • Provides oversight for key complex projects and manages overall responsibility for project performance (cost, schedule, and scope) and provides timely updates to the Plant Project Group; stakeholders and senior management.
    • Evaluates new scopes of work, including the development of cost and schedule estimates. Work with project stakeholders to develop the User and Technical requirements specification.
    • Manage and control project planning, scheduling, costs, risk, scope change and execution through a support team of matrix staff from other functional organizations.
    • Develop project management plans and associated plans through which to monitor and control project performance.
    • Develop, manage, and execute project schedule to meet the needs of the site and or external customer/stakeholder (e.g. CTG, ETC)
    • Manage, track, and present to URENCO USA management project indicators for scope, schedule status, cost performance, and other items requiring management attention and intervention.
    • Maintain knowledge of URENCO USA policies, procedures, and organizational roles and responsibilities.
    • Coordinate the project through turnover of completed facilities and systems to Operations for start-up and operation.
    • Work with project stakeholders to create an effective problem solving team.
    • Ensure that contracts conform to the procurement standards and applies sound negotiations in interpreting and executing contract agreements of assigned projects.
    • Remains abreast of URENCO Global project initiatives assigned to UUSA Plant Project Group and ensures projects are meeting required schedule and budgetary requirements
    • Ensure all processes and procedures are aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (as applicable) quality management system requirements.

    Compensation starting at: $117863 – $151106 / year and up dependent on candidate.
