The Situation
The demand for 247Solar’s 24/7 systems based on concentrated solar energy (CSP) that produce solar electricity, heat, and green hydrogen to industrial and utility customers is growing so fast we need an experienced Project Engineer – Renewable Energy to play a major role in the engineering and development of our technology and solutions.
The Position
This position reports to the VP, Systems Engineer.
247Solar, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Project Engineer – Renewable Energy to engineer and develop our technology and solutions including
· Works directly with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers and suppliers to ensure system specifications are developed and documented.
· Manages control software generation process from concept to completion, integrating pumps, valves, engines, controllers, compressors, etc.
· Generates test plans to validate system operation and software quality assurance.
· Documents test results and present to engineers and managers.
· Responsible for system commissioning activities at customer site.
· Defines/Specifies HMI interfaces.
· Travels to test site to perform tests.
· Performs engineering calculations, including heat loss, efficiency, pressure drop, etc.
· Occasionally travels to other 247Solar locations to collaborate with other team members in the United States and Internationally.
Ideal Candidate Experience
· Minimum 12 years of integrating different systems including pumps, valves, compressor, engines, generators, controllers, etc.
· Experience generating FMEAs and HAZOPs analysis.
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Master’s degree a plus
· Strong fundamental engineering skills (thermodynamics, fluids, energy, electrical)
· Demonstrated engineering skills developing products from inception to customer introduction.
· Demonstrated knowledge of defining instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure)
· Demonstrated knowledge of P&IDs
· Labview programming experience a plus
· Experience testing power generation equipment in the field is a plus.
· Knowledge and understanding of the solar power or energy system is a plus
· Knowledge and understanding of concentrated solar power technology (heliostats, energy storage, power generation) and its applications is a plus
· Desire to work in a small dynamic team.
· Must have excellent written and oral English communication skills.

The chosen candidate can work from anywhere. Salary will be commensurate with local salary ranges for comparable positions. As a senior team member of an early-stage company, the salary portion of compensation may not meet large-company levels. However, the base salary is competitive, and the Senior Engineer will be rewarded based on the company’s future success and increased value in the form of a stock option plan.
