Job Description

Acts as a design authority for an engineering discipline with medium complexity. Completes assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership and Design

  • Lead technical projects, approving designs and solving complex problems.
  • Review all project documents for safety, cybersecurity, and quality compliance.
  • Conduct power system studies for medium and low voltage systems using tools like ETAP or Power Tool.
  • Design, review, or modify control and protection schematics and communication networks for switchgear.
  • Use tools like EPLAN or AutoCAD to support design work.
  • Write technical specifications and functional descriptions.

Customer Collaboration and Sales Support

  • Work with customers to create solutions, gather feedback, and improve designs.
  • Define and finalize key concepts like “fail-safe” and “secure-by-design” in project meetings.
  • Resolve technical issues during meetings and assist in preparing proposals and presentations for projects.

Project Management and Planning

  • Create work plans, cost estimates, and ensure timely, cost-effective project implementation.
  • Ensure Bill of Materials meets contract terms and project budget goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers and supply chain teams to meet contractual requirements and manage contract variations.

Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement

  • Apply design thinking, simulations, and calculations to improve designs.
  • Conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Coach and mentor team members, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to tools and workflows.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure correct production, staging, and testing of designs.
  • Work with commissioning teams to ensure proper installation and commissioning of systems.
  • Update engineering deliverables post-installation and commissioning, as required by contracts.
