Job Description

A leading solar development, engineering, procurement, and construction firm dedicated to driving sustainable energy solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team. As a key member of their pre-construction team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and procuring high-quality solar components and materials. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of our solar projects, from initial design to final installation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers of solar components, including modules, inverters, racking systems, and other related equipment.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and delivery schedules.
  • Manage procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and resolving any supply chain issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure that procured materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to optimize procurement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry, with a strong background in pre-construction activities.
  • Proven knowledge of electrical equipment, vendors, and estimating techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems and components.
  • Strong network of contacts within the electrical industry, including suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors or a similar role.
  • Proven track record of successful procurement and negotiation in the solar space.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
