Senior Manager, Virtual Solar Power Systems Planning and Design

Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design phase of virtual solar power systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, objectives, and timelines.
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies to identify suitable locations for virtual solar installations, considering factors such as solar resource availability, terrain, and environmental impact.
- Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for virtual solar arrays, including solar panel layout, mounting structures, electrical wiring, and monitoring systems.
- Manage the selection, procurement, and negotiation process with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to project budgets.
- Oversee the implementation and construction phase of virtual solar projects, coordinating with EPC contractors to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, and deliverables, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise during the construction phase.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify workmanship, installation accuracy, and system performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, utility companies, and local authorities to obtain permits, approvals, and interconnection agreements for virtual solar installations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams, stakeholders, and clients on virtual solar technology, best practices, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar power systems planning, design, and project management in the United States.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale solar projects in the US, from conception to completion, with a strong emphasis on virtual solar installations.
- In-depth knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, system components, performance modeling software, and design principles relevant to the US market.
- Demonstrated expertise in overseeing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers within the US, with a keen eye for quality control and project cost management in accordance with US regulations.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing solar energy installations in the US, including NEC, IEEE, and UL requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities within the US.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges and project obstacles.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials are highly desirable.
