Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Natural Gas Pipeline Operations and Maintenance (“O&M”) will have responsibility for the company’s rapidly growing portfolio of natural gas (NG) midstream assets across the US, collecting Renewable Natural Gas (“RNG”) for injection into the US natural gas pipeline infrastructure. These pipelines vary in size from 2”-6” with pressures ranging from 5psig to 850psig. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the Directors of Asset Management, Director of Development Interconnect, as well as supporting the 3rd party operations, safety, and response systems for the pipelines. This candidate with also be responsible for coordinating, preparing, and maintaining various reports, records, diagrams and other documents concerning maintenance and operations issues, safety, regulatory compliance, and administrative issues in an effort to better optimize existing midstream assets.

The ideal candidate will have specific experience in operations management of natural gas transmission, distribution and gathering networks.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds company values and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all company standards and policies, with a strong focus on safety, health, and environmental (SHE), and ensures compliance and has authority to obtain resources to comply with applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, PHMSA, FERC, EPA, OSHA, Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), State Utility Commissions, State Environmental Protection Divisions, and Local Fire Departments, and to minimize environmental impact in the event of a hazardous waste release
  • Administers local and company Facility Security Plans including security assessments and risk aversion
  • Establish and enforce safety and environmental standards while driving a strong culture of operational discipline
  • Serves as a company representative on regulatory and environmental issues with operational midstream assets
  • Supports Development Team with opportunities to expand the existing infrastructure and optimize system performance
  • Identify gaps, develop improvement plans and delivery on enhancing the performance, availability and reliability of existing operating assets
  • Implement lessons learned from existing pipelines to incorporate in new system design
  • Coordinate internal resources and 3rd party contractors/vendors for O&M activities
  • Identify improvement projects to improve system reliability and/or increase operating capacity
  • Manages and approves emergency response, operator qualification, integrity management, public awareness, damage prevention, and any other programs required by CFR 192
  • Act as liaison between Brightmark and local emergency responders
  • Manages relationships between Brightmark and local utility commissions
  • Provide emergency response, and task specific trainings to Brightmark and 3rd party pipeline operators
  • Develops procedures for commissioning pipelines, compressors, and pipeline equipment
  • Drive a consistent approach to midstream operations, troubleshooting and response to operational issues for effective delivery to market
  • Oversee sampling and testing strategies for each site in compliance with regulatory guidelines within required schedules
  • Develop internal and external reports and auditing tools required for regulatory compliance, system maintenance scheduling, as well as system operational data
  • Maintains audit preparedness and participates in PHMSA / DOT field audits
  • Responsible for and ensures completion of incident investigations, coordinates documentation of near-miss reports, DOT and Brightmark leak and incident reporting, foreign line change diagrams, underground pipe inspection reports, and repair and leak reports
  • Prepares annual operations, maintenance, and capital budgeting for areas of responsibility. Responsible for managing teams to meet budget and company goals and objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • Previous natural gas pipeline O&M experience required
  • Broad hands-on technical experience in the operation natural gas collection systems

Salary Description

$170,000 – $180,000
