Job Description

AMPYR Energy USA (AMPYR) is growing fast! Not only are we developing more solar and storage projects in the coming years, but the company is maturing to the point where we now need a dedicated team to execute on our corporate finance initiatives.

In this role, you will report to the Managing Director of Finance and Investments to support the following verticals:

  • Corporate level capital raise: This will include working with investment banks to raise debt and equity capital to support our growth.
  • M&A: Ampyr Energy may opportunistically acquire and/or sell projects complement our business.
  • Project Finance: Raise tax equity investments, construction loans and term loans to support construction ready projects.

To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter with a keen attention to detail who is motivated to advance in a long-term finance career. The ability to build financial models from scratch is highly important. The work is fast paced, demanding, and intellectually stimulating. You will need to work well under pressure, have the aptitude to synthesize and distill large amounts of information, and be capable of modeling innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Build financial models to analyze various corporate financing strategies
  • Review term sheets and financing documents
  • Participate in meetings with investors, lenders and financial institutions
  • Research competitors that operate in the renewable energy / sustainable energy space
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and identify potential acquisition targets
  • Participate in financial due diligence of potential acquisition targets
  • Prepare pitch decks to solicit bids from lenders and investors
  • Support senior management on various financing related matters
  • Participate in senior management meetings
  • Mentor, train and develop the junior analysts on the team

Qualifications, Education, Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or Accounting
  • Solar, battery storage or renewable energy experience preferred but not essential
  • VBA and/or coding experience
  • Working towards a CFA, CPA or MBA

Competencies

The following skills, knowledge and attributes are necessary to perform the job successfully:

  • Completed undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Prior work experience (5-7 years)
  • Transaction experience
  • Ability to build financial models from scratch in MS Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn about renewable and sustainable energy sector
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point and Word
