Senior Electrical Engineer – Solar PV, BESS

Location: Sacramento, CA Remote

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000 to $160,000 DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering and a deep knowledge of Solar PV systems and BESS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design, construction, and commissioning of Solar PV and BESS projects
• Provide technical expertise and support for all aspects of Solar PV systems and BESS, including system sizing, component selection, and integration
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, and local regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project schedules and budgets
• Perform detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD
• Conduct site visits to assess feasibility and identify potential issues
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Manage and oversee subcontractors and vendors
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning
• Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure successful project completion
• Provide technical training and support to project teams and clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of number years of experience in Solar PV and BESS design, construction, and commissioning
• Strong understanding of Solar PV systems and BESS, including system sizing, component selection, and integration
• Experience with construction and commissioning of Solar PV and BESS projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, and local regulations
• Experience with SCADA systems is a plus
