The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $97.947-$115.232

JOB SUMMARY:
Scope of Work – Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:
This position reports to the Manager Economic Development and is responsible for implementing economic development program and project initiatives to stimulate profitable strategic revenue growth, and retention on the Companies electrical and natural gas systems, while ensuring strong business relationships and customer satisfaction. This position includes activities to satisfy annual economic development funding targets for both Companies in accordance with regulatory orders and Public Service Commission approval of such programs.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Existing Program Management responsible for managing assigned programs to achieve program objectives through activities which include:
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive program plans through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Analyzes program performance and effectiveness to identify areas for improvement and incorporates changes in program planning.
  • Providing direction and guidance on tasks performed and completed by program support personnel.
  • Ensuring processes are efficient while meeting quality assurance standards and complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Delivery of outstanding customer service by ensuring programs meet customer expectations and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Required internal and external reporting.

2.New Program Offerings responsible for the development and implementation of new and innovative programs that meet customer needs while providing opportunities for the companies. This is accomplished through:

  • Identifying economic development needs, analyzing market and segment opportunities, and monitoring competitor activity and strategies to lead efforts to develop and enhance economic development programs enabling the companies to meet or exceed annual spending and commitments targets for economic development programs.
  • Implementation of approved new programs to achieve critical success factors.

3.Responsible as lead for assigned business attraction and expansion projects which includes collaboration with internal business areas, for infrastructure improvements, cost estimates and schedules and communicating proposals to prospective customers. Responsible for keeping project team on task. Provides project status reports and ensures various business areas are responsive to various external stakeholders.
4.Actively participates and serves as the company liaison, through serving on economic development organization board of directors, and committees.
5.Presenting at local, regional and state level conferences and events to develop and enhance business relationships to encourage business expansion, attraction and retention activities.
6.Responsible for timely and successful resolution of customer issues related to economic development programs.
7.Identify and initiate process improvement through research, planning, change management and training activities to gain efficiencies which increase customer satisfaction, reduce costs and increase profitability.

Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes economic and business development, business to business relationships or managing complex technical programs or projects.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Direct interaction with government, business and community leaders.
  • General knowledge and application of electric and natural gas industry, rates and tariffs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to large audiences, including C-level Executives, through various communication channels.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced professional business relationship management skills.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with large customers and organizations.
  • Results oriented with strong critical and creative thinking, sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and abilities.
  • Strong computer application skills, which would include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Excellent communicating and influencing skills with the ability to:

opresent complex, technical topics to stakeholder of various sizes and knowledge levels.
owrite proposals, reports and other documents in a clear and concise manner to advance program initiatives

  • Attention to detail with thorough and complete follow-through with customers, organizations, and all stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and events that support economic development activities.
