Primary Purpose

Subject Matter Expert in the design, development, and implementation of the full cycle of Carbon Capture, Utilization, Transport, and Sequestration value chain to support the analytics needs of all levels of management. Consults with and provides market and technical guidance to multiple business units regarding data requirements, design, processes, and technical solutions in the development and execution of CCUS DOE (or other agency) applications, as well as fulfillment of scope of work of DOE (or other agency) awarded projects. Conducts complex analyses of the proposed new CO2 pipelines and CCUS service as relates to existing company safety, emergency management, operations, business, policy, and regulatory workstreams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning, design, execution, and project management of CCUS technical and market studies including quantitative, qualitative, and usability testing for assigned business partners/projects. Manages relationships with key internal business partners and stakeholders. Communicates with stakeholders to understand business needs and collect business requirements. Reports results and provides recommendations for action/next steps for a variety of audiences. This could include a full report, presentation, story for executives, discussion session with other business units.
  • Develops and provides insights to shape strategy and decision making on projects. Develops and builds strong business partner connections.
  • Conducts CCUS technical and market assessments and secondary research leveraging current internal and external data (e.g., demographics, industry data) and analytics to provide a complete picture of the CCUS industry and customer to internal business partners. Leverages data modeling to support CCUS efforts. Stays apprised of cutting-edge research and insights in CCUS.
  • Monitors updates on CCUS activities and projects at an international, national, state, and local level. Responds to research and data requests required by various departments, divisions, and regulatory agencies. Creates processes to maintain database for documentation.
  • Develops reporting and presentation templates and infographics for effectively communicating CCUS activities and vision. Prepares monthly activity reports for department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

$109500 – $164300 / year

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Business, Marketing, related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Master’s Degree Engineering, Business, Marketing, related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.

Experience

  • 8 years of relevant experience including regulatory process, natural gas applications in transportation, relationship management, and/or public policy are required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Communication skills in order to make clear, concise, and persuasive presentations and written proposals on highly technical subject matters. Required
  • Familiarity with carbon capture, utilization, transport, and storage technical, industry and market trends. Required
  • Capable of thinking both strategically and tactically. Required
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to evaluate the impact of existing and proposed regulation and legislation impacting the carbon management market. Required
  • Ability to effectively discern and prioritize demands to manage time. Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional Engineer certification/license is preferred.
