Supporting the Nations Clean Energy Leader
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is the hub of renewable energy applied research, development, and demonstration activities in the United States. EEREs mission is to accelerate the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of technologies and solutions to equitably transition America to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions economy-wide by no later than 2050, and ensure the clean energy economy benefits all Americans, creating good paying jobs for the American people. Lindahl Reed provides EERE expert technical and management resources through its $300M Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Support (SETS) support service contract to achieve its national clean energy mission.
Lindahl Reed has a need for a Senior Advisor to support business models and finance for the Joint Office. This position serves EEREs Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (JOET). The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation was created through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to facilitate collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Joint Office will align resources and expertise across the two departments toward leveraged outcomes. The office will be a critical component in the implementation of the BIL, providing support and expertise to a multitude of programs that seek to deploy a network of electric vehicle chargers, zero-emission fueling infrastructure, and zero-emission transit and school buses. The scope of the Joint Office will continue to evolve as directed by both departments.
Description/Job Summary
  • Assessing the current business models for EV service providers (EVSP) and the viability of primary models and ancillary revenue streams for long term sustainability
  • Analyzing the conuence of EVSP, OEM, utility and governments revenue and cap-ex + op-ex current and likely future models, and potential for cross-subsidy, mutually benecial capital and operating models for long term sustainability
  • Interface with industry and NGOs + governments at all levels to assess what incentives and outcomes can be aligned for mutual benet and faster scaling of clean fuel and EV systems
  • Recommend to JO/DOE/DOT leadership enabling policies and stakeholder engagement strategies to achieve the Administrations goal of 500k charging stations by 2030.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree (advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience in clean energy transportation.
  • 15+ years of professional experience.
  • Project experience with a range of public entities, including city agencies; state agencies; federal agencies; and utilities.
  • Broad range of experience developing and implementing financial and business models
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple long- and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent US Resident.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
