Job Description


Job Title: Senior Account Manager (ME, VT, NH) Company Overview: They are a well-established Manufacturer’s Rep firm with a footprint covering Washington DC to Maine. They sell medium voltage to high voltage electrical products, primarily serving the utility industry. Their customers are IOUs and municipalities, and they sell directly to the IOUs and through distributors like Wesco and Irby. As they continue to grow and expand our reach, they are seeking a highly motivated and driven Senior Account Manager to join our team.

Position Summary: As the Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and selling a range of technology solutions to potential clients within your assigned territory, covering all of ME, NH, VT. This role is particularly well-suited for candidates with operational experience or exposure who are looking to enter the sales domain or individuals who already have experience selling into or with the utilities sector. Your primary objective will be to build and maintain strong business relationships, identify customer needs, and provide tailored recommendations that align with their objectives. This is a remote position that offers flexible working hours, allowing you to manage your own schedule and work independently while receiving full support from a dedicated sales and support team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective customers within the Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont region.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products and services to effectively communicate their value propositions to potential clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads and generate new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful implementation of solutions for new clients.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to existing clients, fostering long-term relationships and identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify areas for differentiation and maintain a competitive edge.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary base of $90,000 per year.
  • Quarterly company bonus ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, dependent on company performance.
  • Individual bonus of 25% of sales to a customer, offering significant earning potential.
  • Home-based position with flexibility in managing your own schedule.
  • Company car provided after 6 months
  • Reimbursement for mileage during the first 6 months using your own car at the current GSA rate (probationary period).
  • Full benefits package and 401K plan available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous/current experience in Operations within Utilities or Sales to Utilities
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Operational experience or exposure in the utilities sector is highly desired.
  • Candidates with experience selling into or with utilities companies
  • Engineering background is not required.
