SCADA Engineering Estimator (Remote)

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

• Locate and review pursuit contract exhibits to identify project requirements pertaining to SCADA and OT systems scope
• Review and analyze project requirements to develop a thorough understanding of the project labor and material requirements
• Proactively and periodically review current SOLV design, control, HMI, and networking standards to up to date on current offerings
• Conduct comprehensive cost estimation for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors needed to satisfy project requirements
• Collaborate with internal business partners and subject matter experts as needed to ensure estimates meet all technical project requirements
• Manage RFP process with 3rd party vendors and subcontractors to support project requirements
• Possess general financial acumen and maintain awareness of business financial targets around revenue and margin
• Participate in weekly business development meetings to remain informed of in-process opportunities and communicate status of estimating activities
• Track and adhere to proposal deadlines by establishing project priorities and proposal due dates
• Participate in customer meetings, coordinate technical clarifications as needed
• Collaborate with internal partners to generate detailed bill of material based on project requirements and industry best practices
• Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders as needed
• Document actual project costs at project close out and feed information back into front end estimates
• Lead the improvement of internal processes around estimating/bid management

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

• An engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred. Minimum of 4+ years of engineering experience (experience working within renewable energy including utility scale PV solar and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). Direct experience in SCADA engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of SCADA networks using fiber, Serial RS-232 / RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, and OPC-UA.
• Proficiency in reading drawings and schematics including power systems, networking and control, electrical, mechanical, and civil layouts.
• In-depth understanding of power plant operating procedures and control system interaction with governing bodies such as: Regional Compliance Entities, Independent System Operators, Transmission Operators, and Generator Operators.
• Understanding of basic power plant control logic as it pertains to PV & BESS plant operations.
• Proficiency with various project management, scheduling, and task management tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, Power BI
• Experience using task management tools a plus

Compensation Range:

$103,417.00 – $129,272.00
