Salary Range ($91,500-$122,000) – Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IPs shortterm incentive plan.
The Job You Will Perform:
The Valliant is a 5,000+ ton per day containerboard mill with 3 paper machines, 3 continuous digesters, 3 secondary Fiber plants, and an Energy/Chemical Recovery complex composed of three primary boilers for steam generation (Recovery, Power, Bark), Turbine Generator, Evaporators, Recaust Plant, and wastewater treatment system. It currently operates with over 300 mill employees, 150 contract maintenance employees, and 150 other contractors in a results-oriented environment.
The Paper Resource Coordinator is a salaried exempt Front Line Leader role that leads one of the 12-hour shifts with direct supervision of the hourly employees on all three (3) Paper Machines and Shipping. The Paper Resource Coordinator is responsible for their safety, performance, results, training, personal development, and discipline. The Resource Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating, enabling, and ensuring that mill teams have the ability to safely achieve their goals. The Paper Resource Coordinator partners with the Fiber and ECR Resource Coordinators as well to coordinate mill-wide activities.
Key Functions (include but not limited to):
  • EHS&S: Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Use skills and tools consistent with Behavior Based Safety processes and Incident Investigation procedures. Knowledgeable of environmental requirements: i.e., knows SPCC reporting requirements; audits work teams to ensure that proper forms are completed when spills or excursions occur; assists with troubleshooting problems surrounding excursions or spills
  • Financial: Support initiatives to reduce operating cost.
  • Quality: Ensure production of quality paper is being produced.
  • Reliability/Performance: Ensure all Work Systems are being executed i.e. basic care, break prevention, RCFA, MWS, guidelines, grade change procedures, etc. Manage shift mechanical and E&I resources as needed.
  • Housekeeping: Enforce a culture to achieve a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Coaching and Performance Management: Distinguish good performance from poor. Provide constructive feedback to employees and implement corrective action steps. Conduct hourly employees Quarterly 1:1s. Provide leadership to attain Mill and Area Specific Team goals. Coordinate overall mill operating strategies that expedite the production expectations of the Mill. Work to improve team and individual understanding of the need to meet the running schedule. Administer the labor agreement. Assess and assign manpower as required to safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively operate the mill.
The Skills You Will Bring:
  • College degree in a related field (chemistry, engineering, paper science) and two (2) years of related industry experience OR ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in the pulp/power or fiber industry with leadership experience.
  • Computer literate (spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, intranet/internet.)
