Position Details

  • Remote/Hybrid Tech Lead Substation Design Engineer
  • Location: Overland Park, Kansas (Kansas City metropolitan area)
  • Work Schedule: Three in-office days and two flex/remote days per week

Key Responsibilities

As the Tech Lead Substation Design Engineer, you will:

  • Function as a technical lead specializing in substation design
  • Develop electrical design deliverables and participate in project management activities
  • Interact with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Conduct quality assurance/quality control projects and mentor junior engineers

Engineering Requirements

  • Stay informed about design standards and engineering codes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables and calculations
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members on projects
  • Focus on client needs and project success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Ability to meet pre-employment requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Substation design experience
  • Quality assurance and quality control knowledge
  • Professional Engineering License or Engineer in Training certification
  • Strong communication and project management skills
