Your Impact

As a seasoned Renewables Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting solar energy sites and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. Your efforts and your wide range of experience as a solar and/or EV technician will ensure these systems operate safely and efficiently, supporting our commitment to renewable energy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar equipment and EV chargers.
  • Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades to a broad range of equipment, including Level 2 EV chargers and DC Fast Chargers, using techniques such as insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar equipment and EV chargers.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and other tools.
  • Conduct insulation testing, thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and isolate ground faults and system performance issues.
  • Document all fieldwork including work orders, time logs, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Scheduling team to ensure maintenance schedules are met.
  • Review site manuals and drawings for proper service and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conduct safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

Core Experience

  • 2+ years’ equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training.
  • Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting experience preferably in the maintenance of EV chargers, solar power installations.
  • Technical knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power installations, or other applicable power electronics is preferred.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
  • Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).

Physical/Work Environment

At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

  • Must live within the surrounding area of Buffalo, NY approximately 60 miles.
  • This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow (depending on geographic region for the role).
  • You will be working around high voltages and currents, may be lifting and moving equipment (up to 50lbs) and will be required to always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during work.
  • Up to 20% Travel requirements based on business needs

Compensation: $32.00-$35.00 hourly/DOE
