Energy Storage De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

This an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.

They are looking for a Real Estate Manager that will help drive the project de-risking and land administration process. The incumbent will be joining an expanding Energy Storage Project Development Team and work with Department Leaders on strategic real estate initiatives (administration, land development sourcing, land acquisition, due diligence, and execution) across the nationwide portfolio.

The Real Estate Development Manager role will take ownership of the real estate land and title administration aspects of the utility-scale renewables portfolio, title/survey reviews, and the related implementation of software/tools to ensure project development milestones are being met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Works with the Project Development Leadership Team and SMEs across the organization on titling/surveying real estate management initiatives at the project and strategic levels supporting utility-scale renewable projects across ISOs/RTOs nationwide
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Develops & implements a streamlined renewables site acquisitions, project de-risking, and due diligence administration process that tracks critical real estate milestones across the life of projects
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Takes ownership of the land acquisition survey and title review assessments across the portfolio
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Works cross functionally with the Legal and Accounting Departments to monitor agreement compliance as well as the associate payment timelines
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Provides critical input as needed to the Origination and Project Development Team on site identification and land acquisition strategies
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Develops and fosters relationships with land owners as well as key community stakeholders that enable a collaborative environment for site control negotiations and the lease executions
  • The Renewables De-Risking Real Estate Manager, Land Administration – Management/administration of controlled sites, options, and land leases across the renewables project development portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST have experience developing and managing real estate land and title administration processes
  • Expert in ALTA surveys, title reports, and mineral right evaluations as part of the de-risking process
  • Solid expertise and fluency in the utilization of ArcGIS
  • Project Management mindset when it comes to monitoring real estate project deadlines, obligations, and milestones
  • Expertise in leases, purchase options, land permitting, purchase agreements, & site control administration initiatives
  • MUST have proven experience drafting/reviewing real estate documents: purchase/sales agreements, lease terms, option to purchase agreements, option to lease agreements, easements, licenses, crossing agreements, and covenants
  • Strong background in land negotiations and supporting the close of large commercial real estate transactions
  • Working knowledge of the utility-scale renewables (solar PV, Energy storage / battery storage, & Wind) origination and development process at various stages (interconnection, permitting, PPA negotiations, tax equity, preconstruction…etc) of the project lifecycle PREFERRED
  • Ability to participate in advance level discussions in the utility-scale renewables, transmission, and battery storage space
