Job Description

Overview:

Provides overall direction and management of highly specialized teams maintaining, repairing, replacing major components of renewable generation assets. Directs daily activities of the team. Managing full P&L responsibilities for multiple external projects while meeting the requirements of all customers. Managing and executing on requests for services from internal customers. Assembly and execution of complex projects involving internal and external service providers. Providing expert guidance to management of Company facilities to enable accurate decision making on financial and reliability of generating equipment. Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Procedures & Training Coordinator, Resource Coordinator and 1st Line Supervisors including, day to day operations, business analysis, process development, O&M and capital budget allocation and implementation and outage performance. Ensures operational excellence at all levels of the organization including continuous improvement and competitive benchmarking. Interacts with the public and private sector to manage the overall business to maintain profitable and publicly positive sites. Is responsible of all safety and environmental compliance.

This position would be a hybrid position but primarily focused in the Mercedes, Texas area.

Responsibilities:

  • 40%, Provides oversight and guidance to Operations group for support of the site by the specialty teams (Central Services). Interacts and provides substantive direction and information to public and private sector stakeholders, including local community leaders, asset landowners, and project lenders.
  • 20%, Ensures O&M and capital budgets are appropriately allocated, managed and implemented for all team projects. Ensures all projects provide an adequate return on investment or significant value to the company, including assuring that the proper revenue and O&M projections are updated and achieved.
  • 25%, Develops workforce plan to address staff strategies to include compensation, training, development, performance and labor relations to achieve a highly skilled diverse and inclusive workforce that meets the challenges of a competitive business environment in various areas in the country. Partners with trade schools to assure adequate pipeline of technical talent.
  • 15%, Ensures health and safety environmental performance/compliance with all applicable state and federal permits including interaction with state and local authorities (including ERGOT, TRE, CAISO, etc.) as required by permit or other compliance mechanisms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field (or HS/GED and 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Knowledge & experience with electrical circuits, electro-mechanical construction
  • principles
  • Experience in overseeing contractors and administering programs relating to policy, contracts & procedures. Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety measures/controls
  • Work management processes, Maximo scheduling, contractor oversight, contract management, project management
  • In addition to the Field Services Managers MUST have in depth knowledge and experience in the specific specialized field being managed.

Working Conditions:

  • Outside anywhere from northern border in the winter, to the southern border in the summer, east coast to west coast.
  • Climbing 400′ towers.
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, pinch points, crush zones, normal regular hours, with occasional large amounts of overtime hours as needed
  • 25%+ travel
  • Weight restriction of 265 pounds as an essential function of the job. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure that all weight rated equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner within maximum allowed weight loading.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,344.00 – $85,000.00 per year
