Position Detail:
We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Compliance Administrator to join our Compliance team for this Remote position.

Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, the Regulatory Compliance Administrator is responsible for coordinating and implementing procedures, programs and practices for administration of regulatory requirements in the FERC and NERC areas. Provides coordination, administration and interface for regulatory records and systems concerning regulatory compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Organizes, records, and maintains relevant reports, records, and documentation for FERC and NERC programs;
  • Serves as the administrative coordination point for FERC and NERC-related regulatory activities, procedures, and compliance; Tracks FERC and NERC compliance obligations across the fleet;
  • Interacts with regulatory agency and local emergency responder contacts to communicate submittal schedules and other obligations;
  • Reviews and analyzes pending FERC and NERC program or regulatory changes potentially affecting company operations and makes appropriate recommendations for compliance program updates;
  • Supports both internal and external compliance audit efforts;
  • Provides oversight to regulatory training programs to insure their appropriateness for the assigned sites;
  • Augments the efforts of those involved in compliance and training as necessary;
  • Meets regulatory requirements and follows company policies and procedures to model the compliance adherence desired from others;
  • Performs other functions and projects as may be assigned by Manager, Regulatory Compliance, or Director of Operations;
  • Serves as a back-up to the NERC/CIP Advisor;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned;
  • Complies with all FirstLight policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications / Skills

  • Associates degree or paralegal certification/experience preferred;
  • 3+ years of compliance or process control experience, renewable energy industry, preferred;
  • Knowledge of North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) 693 Reliability or Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations preferred;
  • Strong commitment toward adherence to high standards and best work practices;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, regulators and the public concerning regulatory compliance and stewardship;
  • Possess flexibility and organizational skills to manage numerous and sometimes competing responsibilities of varying urgency within a fast-paced work environment;
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently;
  • Excellent research, written and verbal communication skills, possess ability to comprehend and perform technical writing tasks;
  • Proficient in MS Suite; Maximo or similar software, preferred;
  • Ability to travel for short term assignments as required.
