About the Job

The Regional Sales Manager – Central South will play a critical role in identifying and securing buyers for utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects, guiding the sales process from initial contact through contracting, product delivery and final payment. As a part of our national sales team, the Regional Sales Manager will collaborate closely with our US-based team including Utility sales colleagues, Finance, Sales Operations, Logistics, Legal, Marketing and some limited interaction with our global manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong passion and drive for growing in the renewable energy industry.

Candidates will be required to travel often to Wilmer, TX.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Implement Utility team sales strategies to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Lead the sales cycle from initial contact, opportunity discovery, pricing, contract negotiations, closing transactions and shepherding execution of the contract.
  • Continual customer communication via multiple platforms, monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular sales updates and recommendations for areas to improve.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, providing product and industry updates and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Support sales forecasting, pipeline, respond to RFI/RFP activities, and provide timely updates
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing support and resources as needed.
  • Represent Trina Solar at industry conferences, tradeshows, and other events
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on product updates, strategies, and market demand based on customer feedback and insights.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and challenges.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or business development related to utility-scale solar.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Prior experience working with Utilities, Developers, IPPs, Integrators, and EPC firms
  • Experience managing key customer relationships with the proven ability to close deals.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to travel 20% with very limited international travel.

Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. The expected compensation range for this role is $135,000-$150,000 base plus sales incentive. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. Additional discretionary incentive may be available. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms.
