Job Summary

The position reports to the Quality Supervisor. Initially, this position will perform analytical testing to support the plant’s quality system. The role will work on the shift in a 24/7 operation. The daily routine will require the Quality Technician to be on their feet nearly 100%, including walking, standing, reaching, lifting, stooping, or bending. The technician will work closely with production teams to ensure that quality standards are met throughout manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct standardization and calibration of lab equipment, document results, and identify issues
  • Perform analytical testing of materials and product in compliance with work instructions
  • Document test results
  • Review test results to ensure compliance and to identify short-term trends that require attention.
  • Communicate test results to operators
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product
  • Prepare reports as needed.
  • Participate in internal audits
  • On a daily basis, assess quality performance issues, engage the required resources, and participate in corrective/preventive action
  • Assist Quality Engineers as needed
  • Engage daily with operators and technicians to identify opportunities and to drive improvement
  • Actively monitor compliance with the Quality System, and engage in correcting non-compliances
  • Provide hands-on assistance to the Operations function in their daily activity

Qualifications and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a quality related role
  • Must be comfortable with working in an environment requiring: safety gasses, safety shoes, and other job specific PPE
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand work instructions and documentation
  • Must be able to use computer-based work tools
  • May be required to lift containers weighing up to 30 lbs
  • The daily routine will require the Quality Technician to be on their feet nearly 100%, including walking, standing, reaching, lifting, stooping, or bending
