They specialize in the development and production of lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries for industrial mobility, leisure mobility, and ESS applications. These products are manufactured and assembled in the state-of-the-art facilities in Greece, Italy, Germany, Israel, and USA, and distributed to more than 115 countries.

Profile summary: Keen to further empower our team by onboarding more talent, we are currently looking for a passionate Quality Control Engineer to join the R&D Li-ion cell team based in Xanthi, Greece. These roles are critical for the development of the Lithium cells portfolio as you will be responsible for the Li-ion cell process and production quality in the context of the IPCEI project (Important Project of Common European Interest). This is a role in a very demanding manufacturing environment which will open numerous career opportunities to advance further in the battery manufacturing industry, the fastest current growing industry in Europe. Candidate will have the chance to greatly impact the product & process development, from the initial concept to A and B samples production on the cell pilot line.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures for lithium-ion battery products.
  • Conduct thorough inspection and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality control findings and present them to management.
  • Investigate quality issues and perform root cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of defects, and then implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to identify and address quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Utilize various testing methods and equipment to verify the performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Analyze test results to identify deviations from quality standards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze test data, identify trends, and report findings to support continuous improvement.
  • Utilize statistical methods and quality tools to analyze quality data and generate reports.
  • Support the Cell Production team in the pilot line establishment and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or Engineering equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC within the lithium ion battery industry or related field.
  • Fluency in English (verbal & written) at a C1 level is a must.
  • Proficient in MS Office, experience with Matlab, MiniTab, StatGraphics or equivalent is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
  • EU work permit eligible and fulfilled military obligations – where applicable.
